Benscomputer.no-ip.org - New Licensing Structure for Benscomputer.no-ip.org

From today, postings on Benscomputer.no-ip.org will be protected by one of two copyright schemas - Standard and Premium. This change has been made to allow articles to be posted under the Creative Commons License. Some may recall that when Benscomputer.no-ip.org first started all articles were Creative Commons licensed. This changed some time back to try and help combat the issue of screen scraping.

Standard articles will be released under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike License.

Premium Articles will be free to view, but will be covered by a far more restrictive license. No permission is given to reproduce, distribute or adapt any Premium Article without express written permission from Benscomputer.no-ip.org. Anyone wishing to use Premium Articles should Contact Me to discuss licensing options

In the case of both Standard and Premium Articles, all postings are Copyright Ben Tasker unless otherwise stated.

Generally speaking, most articles will be posted under the Standard license.

How to tell Premium and Standard Articles Apart

The footer of every page describes the license that applies to the content. If your browser supports CSS then when you try to print the page an icon will also be displayed in the head of the page.

Premium Articles are also identifiable by the following icon at the top of each page

Standard Content will not usually have an icon at the top of the page, but will have a Creative Commons Logo at the bottom of the page, much like one of the following;

The eagle eyed will also note the the filename of pages containing Premium Content will start with prem_

An Index of Premium Articles will also be set up at a later date, to aid those interested solely in Premium Content.

Although the license being used will usually depend on the content of the posting, the terms Standard and Premium only refer to the licensing style and not the overall quality of the work!
