Bravo to the BBC for yet more scaremongery I read the BBC news online daily, though I am not sure why I bother, on an almost daily basis there seems to be an article on there designed to cause alarm. Take todays article entitled HSBC to 'review' online security what an absolutely fantastic piece of scaremongering!! You can break into an online account with a keylogger? No shit sherlock! OK so there are steps that HSBC can take to make it a little harder, but the main part of the article does suggest that only HSBC suffers from this problem. Any online portal can be defeated by a keylogger, as long as the person receiving information from the keylogger knows how to utilise it correctly. Keeping your Anti-virus up to date is a good idea, but don't think it truly protects you from online fraud, the only way to be safe from having your account cracked is simply not to have one. |
