Sadly not everyone can afford to own and maintain a number of good quality camera's, especially if you happen to be interested in both video and still photography. There is however a solution, buy one camera and rent other cameras and lenses when you need them. There are plenty of Camera hire companies out there, but the one I've had experience with is www.camerent.co.uk. I've found it's also very helpful to rent a camera for a day before buying one. You can check the specs all you want, but if you buy a new camera only to find it's too small/big to hold in your hand comfortably. You've wasted your money!! I recently hired a Canon EOS 1000D (Top of page) for a day. It only cost me £30.00 for the day (I had a lens that fit, but you can rent lenses too) and allowed me to play around with the kit properly before deciding whether or not too purchase it. As a result I decided it wasn't the camera for me and saved myself from wasting £300 or so on a camera that I don't quite get on with. Our video loving friends aren't left out either, someone I know recently made use of the Sony Z1 Video Camera Hire, a camera that he could never afford to buy. Nor would he want to for the small amount of video that he shoots, but some projects demand quality that a compact just can't achieve! So before making an ill thought out purchase on your next DSLR, consider visiting camerent.co.uk for Sony Camera Hire, or indeed hire of almost any other brand. I'm going to continue making use of them whenever I need a longer lens, or an extra camera! |
